Frances Guerin is Lecturer in Film Studies at University of Kent and Marie Curie Fellow, Department of Media Studies at Ruhr University, Bochum. She is the author of A Culture of Light: Cinema and Technology in 1920s Germany (University of Minnesota Press, 2005), Through Amateur Eyes: Film and Photography in Nazi Germany (University of Minnesota Press, forthcoming), co-editor of The Image and the Witness: Trauma, Memory and Visual Culture (Wallflower, 2007).
