Kim, Ji-hoon - Author Biography

Ji-hoon Kim is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Cinema Studies at New York University, where he is currently completing a dissertation entitled “Between Film, Video, and the Digital: The Art of the Moving Image, Medium Specificity, and Intermediality.” His research interests include film and media theory, experimental film and video, moving images in contemporary art, digital cinema and media art, and East Asian cinema. His essays have appeared in Screen’s 50th-anniversary special issue (Spring 2009) and Global Art Cinema: New Theories and Histories (Oxford University Press, 2010) and other essays and interviews will be forthcoming in Film Quarterly, Animation: An Interdisciplinary Journal and The Place of the Moving Image (University of Minnesota Press, 2011).
